Should bribery be endorsed?

We have approached many Marists to contribute to our blog by emailing us with their postings. Being the ever pragmatic Singaporean, they asked me whether there was anything to benefit them should they post. Based on one of our principles of governance, "Reward for Work and Work for Reward", I have promised Marists that if they contribute good postings, they stand to win prizes.

But I did question myself: Is this principle endorsing bribery? Hmmm... bribery is not acceptable as it goes against incorruptibility.
So should we still continue to reward Marists for contributing to our blog?

Give me your comments.

But as of this point, YES, we will award prizes for those who contribute GOOD postings to this blog!

Nonono its not considered as bribery but rather, meritocarcy, whereby ppl are rewarded for their hardwork.

Same way u bri... I mean REWARD us Marists with candy for doing ur worksheets during your GEP lessons.

On the other hand, creating blog posts on issues such as politics and humanities subjects is not an act of corruption anyway.

Uhh so have the intended prize ready, I'll be submitting smth in soon.

Sigh. If a teacher wants to be rewarded for posting on this blog, it shows how poorly paid we teachers are. So students out there, study hard, get a good job, earn lots of money and then donate generously to the "Poor Humanities Teachers" fund.

Of course bribery is socially accepted. Even the government does it. They just call it ' Baby Bonuses "

Of course this is not bribery, especially since we students are receiving the benefits! This feels more like reward, it drives us to post, not force.

And please, I doubt you guys earn that little.

Jason,

we don't that little but can't say we earn that much either :P

From Jing Han, Ernest, and Jason's comments, I think there's no repulsion when it comes to rewarding students who post. So Pandora's Box, be generous and reward them!
