The dog represents the League of Nations as a fierce but powerless organisation. As the League of Nations do not have every single country's support, they are not considered as a global organisation thus their power are severely weakened. This picture shows the League of Nation as a very fierce dog but it cannot do anything to anyone as it has its teeth locked. This also represents that the League of Nations can't do anything to other countries.

The dog represent the League of Nations. The dog seems fierce enough to input fear into people, like how the League input fear into other countries not to create trouble in Europe. The League is successful in solving minor territorial disputes such as the 1920 Finland and Sweden conflict over Aaland islands. The League also helped to solve socio-economic areas, examples the prevented the collapse of Austria and Hungary. Same as The League, the guard dog is able to create a potential fear but, it is not an effective watch dog . The League is not able to bring world peace, and fail to bring other countries to listen to them. They fail to disarm Europe, as no countries were willing to disarm first in fear of being invaded. Therefore, the League is a failure .

I can learn that the League of Nations from this cartoon, that the League’s main aim was to maintain peace and prevent war (represented by the dog) at all times. The dog as explained by its tag represents War. The dog in this cartoon looks fearsome, and is ready to inspire fear, with its vicious and cruel look and its large teeth (which means weapons) , this also explains that war was something that people feared after the First World War. The dog however is also not an effective guard dog, even though the dog looks fearsome and ready to bite any attackers, it is muzzled and that its head and teeth are all locked by the League of Nations, henceforth the dog of war is unable to move or even attack at all. The league of nations, therefore as I can infer from this cartoon, is the muzzle or the organization to maintain peace and prevent any war from happening after the traumatizing first world war.

The picture shows that the league of nations is a dog which has its teeth covered and therefore the league of nations look powerful on the outside but it is weak on the inside,the league of nations is shown that it is unable to make its members do what its wants and its effort in maintaing disarmament was unsuccessful,it was also unable to control its member decisions

The league of nations is powerless. They can't control other country from disarming themselves from war. But they sometimes helped by helping them by talking terms with them.
The dog belong to a country which crossed the line to another country, then the soldier of the country when to get the dog. So the guards of the country shot the soldier and the government is angry and started a war between 2 countries. The country that was attacked went to the league of nations for help and the league concluded that they killed a soldier of that country in the first place.
The dog is an effective guard dog because he started a war and made the opposing country scared of him.

The dog represents the league of nations wanting to achieve world peace but failing as it does not have enough power over it's members to comply with it's rules.

No, the dog does not have any real power over it's members, it simply advises and condemms, it does not have any authority over it's members.
Is the dog an effective guard dog? Why?
No, it is not. It fails to maintain peace in many disputes as it's authority and power over member states are limited. Member states are not afraid of going against the league as they know that whatever decisions the league makes are not final. The member states are the ones who have the last say.
From this cartoon, I can say that the League of Nations is not really an effective way in preventing war even though one of it's main aims is to maintain world peace.
In the cartoon, the dog depicts war and the muffler chaining the dog's mouth depicts the League of Nations.
It seems like a pathetic attempt by the League of Nations to prevent war as the dog in the cartoon seems extremely ferocious where it can break free anytime which makes it very dangerous.
Thus, the picture shows that the League of Nations are not effective in maintaining world peace as it is not strong or powerful enough to intimidate.

the dog represents the league of nations. the picture depicts a very fierce dog as the league of nations looks and acts very fierce and tough, but as there is also a muzzle on the dog in the picture, it also says that the league of nations only looks tough and fierce but is quite powerless. no the dog in the cartoon will not inspire much fear as the cartoon already shows clearly that the dog is muzzled and cant bite back. no the dog is not an effective guard dog as it can only scare away once, but once the people see that the dog is powerless like the league has not much military power, they will soon strike again, not fearing much opposition. this shows that the league of nations is not a very good deterent for other countries who are going to war as they have little military power. From this cartoon, I feel that this ferocious dog which represents the League of Nations have the mighty power to control the world based on its physical appearance like having sharp piercing teeth and spike chains around its neck. However,I feel that this dog is not going to be effective in controlling the world peace if there happen to have any disputes among any countries.
Because with the muzzle covering fully on his mouth, it will not have the power to stop any aggressors who attack on any weaker countries anymore.Therefore it shows that the dog is unable to inflict fear to any aggressors who try to attack any weaker countries.
Based on the knowledge I get from studying history,I received information about the League who is unable to resolve disputes in some incidents including not preventing Japan to launch an invasion against Manchuria.
Thus I feel that this dog will be ineffective in controlling peace and also bringing more security problems to the world.It shows the lack of power to bring peace to the world,which is one of the aims of the League of Nations.

from this cartoon, i can infer that the league of nations have no powers. the cartoon uses a fierce looking dog with a lock on its mouth to represent the league of nations. this shows that the dog maybe fierce looking, but it cant do anything if it got attacked. this also shows that the leagus of nations may look powerful, but it cant fight back if other countries attacked it.

From the picture i can see that the league of nations is like a huge and scary dog, but its only there for show as its mouth is sealed, disallowing it to bite nor bark. Thus i learned that the league of nation can only scare certain weaker countries but it can't scare countries that have more authority like France, etc.
